PROMOTING SAFE AND APPROPRIATE USE OF MEDICATIONS
FOR ALL CANADIANS

The Canadian Medication Appropriateness and Deprescribing Network is a group of clinicians, educators, people with lived experience, policymakers, and researchers. We work together to produce, share, and apply information to promote the safe and appropriate use of medications.

The Network is proud to unite along with 10 organizations to form the Appropriate Use Coalition, a grassroots group committed to improving patient outcomes and reducing risks through appropriate prescribing.

This report represents a significant step in our commitment to reconciliation, encompassing the vision, guiding principles, and a 5-year action plan for decolonizing and Indigenizing the network.

This two-part article describes the different uses for antidepressants, their benefits, side effects and potential safety concerns. Part one explains how to use antidepressants safely, while part two identifies when and how to stop them safely.

Help us raise awareness: if you are a patient, caregiver or a health care professional with medication-related lived experiences, we invite you to contact us.
